Different Approach

Hello fanatics,

I know that I talk Pittsburgh sports and the Lakers, but after that Auburn Alabama game I have to dedicate a blog to this thriller. NEVER, I repeat NEVER will I see another game like that again in my life. It was a game that you see in the movie's where the underdog comes back with a last second miraculous win.
I feel that Coach Saban's decision to go for that 4th and 1 was a bad decision even though the kicker was having an off day, and the decision to go for the 57 yard field goal was also a mistake. I don't care if the kicker has been nailing 59 yarders in practice, this is no practice. This is an away game where a true freshman kicker has the world on his shoulders in one kick, which ended miserably for Bama.
I was quite happy that Auburn came out with the win, but now its a possibility that Ohio State may be in the championship undeservingly. Overall I was psyched about this game and found myself jumping up and down at the end. It was a game of the century.

Black Mamba's Return

Hello Fanatics,

It's about time I make a post on my Los Angeles Lakers and what better time than now. We are days away from Kobe Bryant making his return to the game after his devastating achilles injury last season against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers currently stand at 5 wins and 7 losses and currently fourth in the western conference. In my opinion they are in a fantastic situation due to the fact that their star play, Kobe Bryant hasn't even been playing. Kobe is this teams heart and soul and with the amount of young athletes on this team, I feel that Kobe's return will be nothing but positive. Kobe only has 2 or 3 years left and he knows this which is another reason why I feel we will be seeing Kobe at his best this season. I hope to bring great news and news regarding the true king of basketball's return very shortly.

Steelers Sting the Lions

Hello Fanatics,

The Steelers made a statement this weekend against the Detroit Lions as they came into the burgh against a struggling Steelers team. Besides an awful 2nd quarter, the Steelers played one heck of a game. The defense was absolutely lights out in the second half which is a big change from a week ago when we gave up an astounding 55 points to the Pats. After this win, and the Cleveland Browns this weekend to come I guess we can start thinking of the small chance of the playoffs. The Steelers will have to be nearly perfect the rest of the way out, nut this yinzer has faith. I feel that if the Steelers defense plays the way they did this week and the offense stays healthy there is a shot.

Steel Curtain

Hello Fanatics,

Well week 9 came and went in this years NFL season and Steelers fans everywhere are stunned. 55 points is what the Steelers gave up to the New England Patriots, who's offense is not terribly great this season. After watching the game I was left thinking to myself, is wrapping up not an option anymore, and is the Steeler D that bad. I know this season is not what the Steelers stand for, but 55 points in one game is just uncalled for. With problems like this occurring many have questioned the possibility of the exit of coach Mike Tomlin, and I saw no way. It is not like the Rooney's to dump a coach a couple years in to their job, but then again we haven't started this bad in very long. There are many questions to be answered because these new awful stats like allowing 55 points in one game has got to stop. I hope to bring better news about the Steelers and their future this season, but until then my fellow bloggers I will see ya.

How Bout Them Steelers

Hello Fanatics,

The Pittsburgh Steelers have gone 2 straight wins after a hideous 4 game losing streak to start the season. After the win this past weekend against their division rival Baltimore Ravens, I have gained a new sense of belief that this season will not be a complete disappointment. The past 2 wins have been legitimate wins that has made us look stronger than most thought after starting 0-4. The New York Jets beat the Pats this weekend which makes us look slightly dominant seeing the patriots record, and for us beating the Jets the previous weekend. Only time will tell what happens the rest of the season. If i had to guess I feel the Steelers will go .500 and just miss the playoffs. We will come in second in the division behind the Cincinnati Bengals who I feel have a great shot at representing the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Post-Season Hangover

Hello Fanatics,

I come reporting to you today in a very somber and sad mood. My Pittsburgh Pirates lost in game 5 to the St. Louis Cardinals ending the Pirates' Cinderella season. All I wanted before this season was a winning season, something I have never seen, but what do I get? A winning season and 6 exciting playoff games. I know there is no reason for the Pirates or anyone who caught "Bucco Fever" to hang there heads, because in retrospect who on gods green earth would have had the Pirates going to the NLDS? NO ONE! I can't believe how excited I am for next season with this time hopes of a World Series.

Buctober Continues

Hello Fanatics,

It was one interesting night at PNC Park on Tuesday evening as the Bucco's played their one game wild card against the Cincinnati Reds. Being a Pittsburgh sports fan my entire life, I can honestly say no other Pittsburgh sporting event atmosphere even came close to the one on Tuesday. I guess after a 21 year drought from a playoff appearance, the fans finally got to open its bottle of october baseball anticipation. During the game, the fan base stole a hockey move and chanted the pitcher (John Cueto) last name which eventually led to him dropping the ball and then letting up a one run home run the next pitch. Even though I was not in attendance at the park, it was so loud I felt as if I were there from watching it on my TV. It is a weird feeling watching the Pirates play competitive baseball in October and taking the drivers seat away from the Steelers who are 0-4.
Tonight the Pirates start their series with the St. Louis Cardinals. In my opinion, I feel that if we take one from the Cards in St. Louis that we have an excellent chance of winning this series. We are a team that plays their best baseball in their hometown with 39,000 fanatics rooting and standing right behind them. I hope to continue talking Pirate baseball and see them go all the way, but we shell see.
